Vocational Training
Sitaray's vocational programs for adolescents with ASD and neurodevelopmental disorders are aimed at skill building with the goal of fostering independence, self-determination, and successful integration for participants in the workforce and wider community.
Vocational Program at Sitaray, Islamabad
Our vocational program begins with a comprehensive functional skills assessment, this leads to the development of a person centred intervention plan. Our programme is heavily focused on teaching adolescents independent living skills, functional skills and community skills.
Key features of our Vocational Programme
Functional Assessments
We use standardized testing tools such as the assessment of functional living skills (AFLS) and the Vineland assessment. Intervention plans are developed collaboratively with the client and their families.
Person centred planning
Our vocational program utilises person-centred planning, which involves assessing each participants strengths, interests, skills, and goals. These lead to the development of an individualised intervention plan.
Community integration
Our Program helps facilitate community involvement and engagement to help participants build social connections in community settings. This includes community activities, field trips and excursions.
Functional skills Training
Some of the key skills we teach students in our vocational program are: communication skills, social skills, computer skills, gardening, baking and basic cooking, problem solving skills, and safety skills.
